EOD Cellars Supports Wounded EOD Warrior Foundation
EOD Cellars
When Leon Tackitt retired from a 28-year career as a Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician, it wasn’t the end of his association with the EOD community. Upon his retirement, Leon and his wife, Cindy, turned their “modest family vineyard” intoTackitt Family Vineyards, and what started as 29 Gewürztraminer vines brought from Germany by Tackitts grandfather, John Thomas, grew into an award-winning family business.
The Tackitts have combined their passions for wine and for the EOD community by using their newfound talents to spread support and awareness for the Wounded EOD Warrior Foundation. In addition to participating in events such as Wine for EOD Warriors and Warriors Helping Warriors (a bottling day for the wounded EOD community to get together and support the cause), Tackitt Family Vineyards has produced their own EOD branded wine.
EOD Cellars is a specially bottled selection of wines created to honor and support the men, women and families of our Armed Services. 100% of the net proceeds from EOD Cellars will benefit the Foundation, proving that wine is not only good for the heart, but also good for the soul.
Current EOD Cellars wines include:
- The Basic Blaster Red is a 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon.
- The Senior Blaster Red is a 2008 Merlot.
- The Master Blaster Red is a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet, Merlot and Petite Verdot
- The Willie Pete White is a 2010 Sauvignon Blanc
- The Det Cord White is a 2008 Riesling
Thank you Tackitt Family Vineyards for supporting our troops & thank you Lee Nelson Sivero for forwarding the TFV link to me!
